We first met Danii and her fabulous bridesquad at the Ricoh Arena wedding fayre in September 2015, and what started as an exchange of ideas about table decor very quickly evolved in to a much, much bigger discussion about cake, flowers and then finally photography.
We had the pleasure of providing all of these services for their gorgeous ceremony and reception, both held at beautiful Ansty Hall, just outside of Coventry. Danii & Josh were a dream to work with: at each consultation they had fabulous ideas for making their day truly personal and even thought it would be a good idea to meet Stacey, our photographer one Sunday morning after a bit of a heavy session on the town the night before. An all round lovely, great fun couple.
On the day we were greeted by the cold, and thick fog provided the backdrop to some very atmospheric early morning photographs. Thankfully it stayed dry so we only had to brave the freezing cold while setting everything up. There was never a dull moment with Danii's laugh-a-minute Bridesquad, although they were still meticulous in carrying out their duties, ensuring that everything was absolutely perfect. OK, maybe a few broken bed springs after one of Danii's ideas for some particularly fun photos.....
After capturing the girls' fun-filled wedding preparations, Stacey greeted the gents in the bar (or lobby depending on who you speak to) to get a few shots of Josh and his groomsmen.
Danii looked truly amazing, with hair styled by the lovely Abbie Curtis from Potion and fabulous make up by Suzie Gee . She chose a stunning princess style dress from The Bridal Boutique, which was perfectly altered by Sue Taylor; a full length veil; and a gorgeous pair of sparkly heels from Ted Baker. No wonder her ever-proud Dad had to fight back the tears when he walked her down the aisle.
Danii & Josh opted for a beautiful service and hand-fastening performed by The UK Celebrant: we have got to know these guys over the years and they never fail to do an amazing job. After the ceremony the guests braved the cold for the all important group, confetti and bouquet toss shots - with bridesmaid Chelsey being very light on her toes to ensure that nobody else was going home with the bouquet! Hats off to anyone that can genuinely sprint in heels. Back inside, the guests were treated to canapes and drinks whilst being entertained by smooth-voiced Jame McArthur.
Stacey then whisked the happy couple outside for some brief couple portraits. Using some creative lighting among the fog, Stacey captured some truly breathtaking, romantic scenes under the Ansty Hall trees. As always, I was on hand to hold the lights and be the general carrier of random photography equipment. :)
On to the Wedding Breakfast in the orangery, and Danii wanted to carry her winter navy and Silver Sparkle in to the evening. We provided beautiful coloured and sequin linen, our tall candelabras and LOVE letters which really did look brilliant, particularly when it ame to the first dance in front of them. An alternative pie and mash dinner was served, and the guests were treated to some hilarious and heart warming speeches. The cake was designed to capture details from the decor including the gorgeous silver sequins <3
As Danii runs a fabulous dance school, Strictly Dance Academy, we expected a magical first dance and we were not disappointed!
To Danii, Josh & each and every member of your bridal party: thank you so much for choosing us for your special day and for being a pure joy to work with!
